DVD Production Flow


Stamper

The metal master is transformed by the mirror structure into metal mother after electroforming because it will be degraded during the injection process. By the same procedure, metal mother is transformed into the son which has the same structure as the metal father. After the center hole and outer edge is formed by punch and its back side is well polished, the son then becomes the stamper.

 

 

Injection Moulding

The stamper is placed in the mold and the optic polycarbonate material is injected into the cavity of the mold. As a result, the transparent substrate is formed and has identical shape of the stamper's pit and groove.
 






Coating

Organic dye is then coated on the polycarbonate substrate by spin coating. A uniform layer of dye is laid after removing the solvent.

 








Sputtering

The material is spread on the information side of the polycarbonate substrate in accordance with the different DVD standards.
 







Bonding

Two sputtered half discs are joined back to back by the bonding machine.











Printing

After printing the pattern on the face required by the clients, the finest DVD is complete and ready for information storage.
